The short version
- We collect what you share in The Mark: your name, email, business name and answers.
- We use it to give you your read, send you a copy, and follow up about your read.
- No ad trackers, no analytics, no selling your information.
- Want your information deleted? Email hello@nichemark.co and it's done.
Who we are
Nichemark Consulting LLC (“Nichemark,” “we,” “us”) runs nichemark.co and The Mark, our free business diagnostic. This policy explains what we collect when you use them, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
Questions or requests about your information can go to hello@nichemark.co.
What we collect
What you tell us in The Mark
- Your first name
- Your email address and business or project name
- Your answers to the diagnostic questions
- Budget and timing, if you choose to share them
We also keep a copy of the read The Mark gives you, so we know what you saw.
What you send us directly
If you email us or book a call, we receive whatever you include, like your name, contact details and what you'd like help with.
What's collected automatically
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time.
- Spam protection. When you submit The Mark, we briefly keep a coded version of your IP address so we can limit repeated submissions. It's cleared out within about an hour.
We don't use advertising trackers, analytics tools or tracking cookies on this site.
How we use it
- To give you your read. Your answers are used to write your read, either by an AI service working for us or by The Mark itself on the page.
- To send you a copy. When you enter your email, we may send your read to that address.
- To follow up. We may reach out about your read and how we could help. If you'd rather we didn't, tell us and we'll stop.
- To improve The Mark. We look at answers and results, in general, to make the questions and the reads better.
- To keep things running safely. We use technical details to keep the site working and to block spam and abuse.
- To meet legal obligations, when the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your submission for as long as it's useful for following up with you or running our business, and for any period the law requires. When you ask us to delete it, we will, unless we're legally required to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Show you the information we have about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop emailing you
Just email hello@nichemark.co from the address you used. We'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law. We'll honor them, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our site. No website or email system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't guarantee it.
Please don't put sensitive details in your answers. That includes passwords, bank or card numbers, Social Security numbers, health information, or anyone else's confidential information. The Mark doesn't need any of it.
Who this is for
Our site and The Mark are meant for adults using them for business. They aren't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We're based in and operate from the United States. If you use the site from somewhere else, your information will be handled in the U.S.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site or services change. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on the site.
